Benton Crossing Landfill Intermediate Cover Project

Summary

The BENTON CROSSING INTERMEDIATE COVER PROJECT (Project) is for the purpose of shaping a new foundation layer by excavating and transporting borrow material from an adjacent site to install an additional approximately one-foot thick soil layer over the existing interim cover at the Benton Crossing Landfill to the grades shown on the Plans, and/or as directed by the engineer, for a minimum thickness of 24 inches over the buried solid waste.

The Project also includes installation of measures to stabilize, control erosion and sediment during and after the project. Project work shall conform to the Plans, and project specifications including these Technical Specifications, the referenced Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) Manual, referenced Caltrans Specifications, and referenced State Regulations. Additional work, not explicitly called for, but that can be reasonably implied to be necessary for the project to be complete is also required. If any conflict in specifications exists, the most stringent shall prevail and be upheld
by the Contractor.

The contract intent is to provide for work completion using the best general practices and industry standards. Nothing in the specifications voids the Contractors public safety responsibilities.

The Engineers Estimate is $1.5M
